My Story
At Opal Skin and Bodywork, I believe in the power of renewal—just like the opal, a gemstone known for its soothing energy and deep connection to the body. For me, this isn’t just a name; it’s a story. As a child, my grandmother gifted me an opal ring—a symbol of love and strength. Though the ring was lost, my business is my way of giving it back, honoring that connection through the art of healing touch.
With a passion for massage therapy, I seek to help professional athletes and patients with chronic pain find balance and renewal from the inside out. Opal Skin and Bodywork is here to empower, uplift, and restore you.
About Alyssa
I began my journey in massage therapy in 2022, working in various spas and clinics. While relaxation is a key aspect of massage, I quickly discovered how essential pain management is in truly helping clients feel their best. My approach focuses on personalized care, blending multiple modalities rather than adhering to a single style. Every individual is unique, and their massage experience should be, too.
I credit much of my skill and understanding of the body to my background in Brazilian Jiu-Jitsu. Hands-on grappling taught me how different areas of the body are interconnected—just like a heel hook, where the foot is attacked, but the knee takes the damage. This knowledge sharpened my ability to identify muscles, movement patterns, and points of tension. As a competitor, Jiu-Jitsu also instilled in me the drive to work with athletes, helping them recover, perform at their peak, and prevent injuries.
In early 2023, I earned my AMTA (American Massage Therapy Association) certification, further solidifying my expertise and commitment to providing high-quality, professional care. My goal is to offer therapeutic relief that supports both relaxation and long-term physical well-being.
